Should democratic nations actively promote the spread of democracy to nondemocratic nations?

(民主主義を世界に広めるべきか。) 

 

〔小学生〕

I think democratic nations need to promote actively the spread of democracy to nondemocratic nations. I have three points of advantages and disadvantages to support my opinion. 

 

First, when nations are nondemocratic the citizens are not allowed to express their opinion. I believe that will lead to the brainwashing of young people. So in the future, there will be the same politics and the same thoughts. 

 

However, people in nondemocratic countries are equal in their money situation. In communist society, no matter how much output it yields, you will get the same salary as everyone else. If there are democratic nations, there are always wealthy people and poor people. Then, they will have the gap between the rich and poor. As a consequence, so many people are starving to death. 

 

Thirdly, in nondemocratic nations, they have a system which allows all citizen to be paid equally even if they don’t actually work. So people in these nations don’t have competitive spirit. As a result, they will not develop or change for many years. 

 

For these reasons, I think people in democratic nations should expand democracy. When democracy widens all over the world, there will be a more peaceful world in the future.

In these modern times, the number of democratic countries has been increasing. So I believe that democratic nations should strongly encourage the spread of democracy to nondemocratic nations for the following three reasons. 

 

To begin with, democracy is based on the idea that all people have rights. It doesn’t matter what gender and age. Every human being is considered to have a key importance as a way to maintain society. 

 

Secondly, democratic system is the most successful so far. It has overcome over the centuries. Motivated people took a stance against aggressive government. 

 

Thirdly, there are some functions in Japan, such as the Liberal Democratic Party. I think the biggest advantage is that we can choose the function you like and also take part in it. By doing so, we can make better policies and describe our own opinion. 

 

For these reasons, I believe that people these days should expand democracy around the world. With the spread of democracy, people can improve their lives. Democratic systems also play an important role. If we could achieve the spread of democracy, we would say that the world peace will finally come true.

These days I often hear that democratic is spreading around the world. Many countries are improving their government systems for the citizens. To be a democratic country leads to higher support among citizens of that country. Thus, I think that the number of democratic countries will increase and these nations should spread democracy to nondemocratic countries. I have three reasons.

 

First, democracy is the idea which is corrected by all people. In democratic nations, people have rights. Many people are allowed to express their own thoughts. It is possible to select and modify the issues because many people have the right to debate. This will be enable us to avoid the explosions of nations.

 

Second, people will be given the freedom and equality. There is less racial discrimination in many democratic countries. In these countries, respecting human rights to promote comfortable environment for living is a priority. 

 

Finally, it is possible to select a talented person widely. Talented persons can work their own country without regard to rank, gender, or priority. I think that this will develop their own country. 

 

I’m a still high school student so I know little about this theme. However, I would like to know about more and more. When I go to the election,  I select the best person for a democratic nation. In conclusion, most people hope that they can receive human rights. And also they believe the world without war coming soon. For these reasons, I think that democratic nations should help spread democracy to nondemocratic nations.

 Today, many countries are democratic nations and Japan is one of them. I have an image that of many democratic nations prospering, so I agree with the opinion that democratic nations can actively promote the spread of democracy to nondemocratic nations and I have three reasons to support my opinion.

 

First of all, democracy promotes economic growth. For example, when we produce some goods, we think have more opportunities to promote these items in democratic nations out many ways because we want many people buy them in the case of democratic nations. However, in the case of communist theory socialist nations, nations pay salaries to employees equally, so many people will get unmotivated. In this way, promoting democracy is related to motivation for working and this also connects to stimulate the development of economic activities.

 

Second, human rights are protected because democracy values people’s freedom and equality. Meanwhile, there are some events that violate human rights around the world especially in nondemocratic countries. For example, under nondemocratic regimes, people who don’t follow the government were put in prison are imprisoned or killed. Therefore, it is also an important point that democratic nations guarantee human rights. 

 

Finally, democracy also promotes more stable politics because democracy is a system where that everyone is equal and has the right to vote. For instance, if the top of the nation rules the country autocratically, some people may feel that it is hard for them to live in the country. However, in democratic nations, we have the right to vote equally and express our feelings freely, so we can value each other’s opinions better than nondemocratic countries.

 

For these reasons, I think democracy has more advantages than feudalism, so more nondemocratic countries should accept democratic thinking.

For the last several decades, democracy has begun to spread all over the world. Now many countries in the world are fully democratic. I believe that democratic nations vigorously encourage the spread of democracy to nondemocratic nations for the following three reasons. 

 

Firstly, democracy has been the most successful political system so far. Liberal democracy has seemingly won out over royalists, fascists and dictators. Motivated people took a stand against corrupt, abusive and autocratic governments. They want a rules-based democracy because they can choose and replace their governments through free and fair elections. 

 

Secondly, democracy is based on the idea that all people have rights. It guarantees that human rights, with a free press and the independent justice system. Every human beings is equally recognized as worthy without regard to intelligence, skills, talent, rank, property, beliefs, and gender. 

 

Finally, democracy has a moral value. In facts, democracies are more successful at avoiding crises such as famines, and are less likely to suffer civil wars because they offer political space where conflicts can be discussed and resolved. 

 

In conclusion, people these days should expand democracy around the world. With the spread of democracy, people can improve their lives. Democracy also will play an important role in achieving world peace where unity and diversity are the very symbol.
