These days, the news often shows the personal lives of famous people that we see in movies and on television. Do you think too much focus on them is good?

I thinks it is not good to focus on celebrities so much. Actually, many people are interested in their lives, but I think it is important for them to keep their lives away from public. I have two reasons to support my opinion.

 

Firstly, we must recognize that they are not only stars but also individuals. As they spend most of time in public, it is essential for them to enjoy their private time for smoothing adversely. Anyone have no right to monitor their lives. Such behavior might be a lapse of ethics.

 

Secondly, coverage to focus famous people has risks to give audiences different impression from their reality. Sometimes we have been misunderstanding by being influenced by manipulation of information. If the celebrities might be suffered from these information, it must be serious problem on human rights.

 

For these reasons, I think that too much focus on celebrities is not good.

human rights と celebrity cultureがわかりにくかったと思いますが、human rightsが人間としての基本的な部分で、「人権」と訳されます。child slavery(子どもの奴隷)のように、人間としてのbasicな部分にあたります。

 

一方、celebrity cultureは、「有名人の個人的な生活文化」といったニュアンスです。

Too much news focus is not good for celebrities as they have a right to enjoy their private lives.(有名人のプライベートに注目しすぎることはよくない)

という文はhuman rightsというよりもcelebrity cultureの点で書いていることになります。
