TOPIC: Is a worldwide ban on weapons of mass destruction an attainable goal?
For the last few decades, there have been a lot of conflicts around the world, and as the result, we have learned that they were for the most part meaningless. Especially, the weapons of mass destruction should be banned because they are likely to harm many innocent people.
Recently, leaders of most countries with weapons such as weapons of mass destruction and nuclear weapons continue to discuss the ways to pursue peace in the world. In their meetings, they always agree that the ban of weapons of mass destruction is an effective way to achieve their purposes.
Furthermore, thanks to the development of technology, we can immediately take a lot of information and observe each other. For example, we can be alerted about the country that are going to do something dangerous. This means that we can help our security improve because we can check and confirm the current situation.
Finally, in recent years, conflicts among countries have been changing from those of physical to those of economic. For example, the United States are trying to give China economic pressure like import restriction. In general, because there is no physical damage from economic conflicts, there are less complaints than with physical conflicts like wars and using weapons of mass destruction.
As mentioned above, practical conflicts like wars using weapons of mass destruction are likely to decrease in near the future. I think that we can realize the peaceful world earlier than we expect because we know that keeping the world peaceful is both difficult and important. (256)
