日曜日に英検を受験されたみなさん、おつかれさまでした。

 

2016年第1回より英検2級に英作文が導入されましたが、中学生・高校生のみなさんにとっては書きにくいテーマだったかもしれません。

 

与えられたテーマに対しての意見を二つの理由を添えて80語～100語程度で書きます。今回の問題と解答例は以下の通りです。解答は講師が作成しております。

 

Today, some companies allow their employees to wear casual clothes like jeans or T shirts. Do you think the number of such companies will increase in the future?

 

More and more companies will probably allow casual style. Recently, the business culture in Japan has changed. For example, the government introduced cool-biz style several years ago. It might be difficult for businesses that have other businesses as clients to change from their usual office attire, but companies doing business with a customer can allow their employees to wear more casual clothes. Furthermore, in terms of comfort, workers can concentrate more on their work because of the actual clothes they are wearing. They don’t feel too hot in summer and can move more easily than in a business suit. (99 words)

 

解答も少し難しくなってしまいましたが、ぜひ高校生・中学生のみなさんに知っておいてほしい内容ですのでご紹介します。

 

日本では「クールビズ」という制度が導入されました。夏にスーツ上下を着て汗まみれで働くより少しカジュアルなさわやかなスタイルで仕事をしましょうというものです。こうやって政府主導で行われると案外すぐに変われるものです。

 

ただ、問題文にある、TシャツなどのよりカジュアルなスタイルはB to B(Business to Business：個人ではなく会社を取引相手とする企業)の会社ではまだ難しいが、B to C(Business to Customer：個人を相手とする企業)の会社では変わる可能性があるというのが今回の意見です。

 

あとは、快適さの面で二つ目の理由を述べています。

 

こういった中学生や高校生が耳にする機会が少ない言葉も紹介しながら社会の仕組みに少しずつ興味を持ってもらいたいと思っております。
